Question Question for those that did the “fog lamp mod” on 04’s

I did the mod where you bend the #1 lug out on the fog lamp relay (R202) and ground it. It works fine but now the
*high beam indicator* light on the dash doesn’t come on anymore. Is this the norm or did I screw something up?
Thanks in advance for your replies

[edit]
Tonight the high beam indicator light in the instrument cluster is working again; can’t explain it but all is well

I checked this for you a little while ago. My dash light would come on when I pulled back for "passing flash" mode, but not when I pushed forward to turn the brights on all the time. It took me about 10 seconds to realize that I actually have to _turn the lights on_ to test this in the daytime. I'm just too used to the autolamp feature I guess. :o

So when you turn your high beams on in the autolamp mode the high beam icon doesn't come on? I think I've asked before, but does anyone know where to buy the wiring and connectors to do this mod?

Thanks guys,

Duke

Is there a thread on this mod? Or can somebody take a few quick pics to show which one you break off? I did this on my Sport Trac, and find it idiotic that I can't drive with both sets of lights on!

It does come on. Unless it is daylight out.

Parts are a female 1/4 inch tab crimp terminal (.187 inch is better but harder to find) a crimp ring terminal and about 15 inches of wire. All at your local car parts store.

You can find it documented like crazy by clicking the picture below. Look for mods->lighting->fog light interlock removal->mod notes
