In the gallery. I used the "under the cowl" mounting for the antenna.

I believe RP used a Pro-Fit mount.

Check out www.myradiostore.com for everything XM. Great products, great service.

What sort of mounting bracket is that -TX150-? Is it a permanent mount or something like a velcro pad or sticky tape?

It is in the cradle with heavy duty double sided tape on the front, and on the bottom of the cradle.

[QUOTE=-TXF150-]Here is my setup. Last pic you can see xm and gps antennas.

Chris, I'm new and I'm just looking to install my Sat antenna in my new FX4 scab and I think I like your location off the third tail light....

I have a few questions....

Question #1...

How hard is it to run the wire through the headliner? I also adding a Cell Antenna to the rear window and pretty much intend to run the coax under the door step guards.. Is that the way you went...

Question #2 ...

I had a Sirius AudioVox PnP and a Motorola Cell Car Kit installed on a ProFit bracket on my old Ranger. I tried that on the new F150 and the ride is stiffer and the weight of my extension and the cell create a shake problem on rough road. I was thinking of mounting the Sirius unit on the tray but using a RAM ball mount. I need to remove the unit to move it to my M/C in the summer so I need to have it really pop in and out at the beginning of the season and at the end of the season.

So my real question is how secure is your mount in that tray.. ??

Question #3... (while I got your attention)....

Where is your GPS....? I use a Garmin SP III and I think I will mount it to the left of the gauges.... I don't use an external antenna.... and it seems to work well there...

Thanks for your time...

Jack

Welcome to the site Jack.
#1 Runing the antenna is not that hard at all. I can take some pics and post them if you want me to. The wires only run through the headliner for a short distance.

#2 I used double sided tape, it is pretty secure, and if you need to remove it it comes off pretty easily, I know that since I had to remove mine once.

#3 I use my HP PDA for my GPS. I have tomtom, and a bluetooth GPS receiver. When I need the GPS I use a suction mount to hold my PDA.

If you have any more questions, just ask.

The headliner literally pulls down at the edges, and you can tuck wires in no problem. The side panels pop off for running down to the door step guards. For my antenna wire, I didn't even remove the side panels, since the wire was small enough to tuck behind the panels after getting behind the weatherstrip. Running in the door step panels is a breeze, too. Plenty of wires already there, with room to spare.

As for mounting the Sirius units...

They're pretty massive. I'd use high strength steel structural shapes.

Just kidding. Had to get a dig in there somewhere.

Get some small weatherstrip from the hardware store, with adhesive on one side, and apply it to the truck so it will match up with the current weatherstrip on the 3rd brake light. Just a little extra to prevent leaks.

Good luck.
