Back in the service dept...again
Going home last night after work my F-150 felt like it lost alittle power at about 45 mph, when i stopped at the red light the tach went from 900 to 1300 down to 300 then stalled. I quickly started it and the rpm would only make it to 300-400 then would stall again. When i looked at my display it said "check guages". After the 3rd time restarting it, again 300 rpm and stall.
So i took the key completly out and restarted it and drove like it never had a problem.
This is the 3rd intermittant time this has happened in about 4 weeks. And i took it in the first time, they reflashed the computer but apparently this did not solve the problem.
Called my service guy (first name basis), told be to bring it in. He will call me in a few hours (hopfully finding the reason). I don't know whats a bigger problem, the stalling or the razzing im getting from the guys who pick me up and take me back to work....one drives a Dodge 1500, and the other drives a Chevy Silverado. Even a guy who drives a Kia here at work is giving me a hard time.

Sorry to hear of your problem, but interested to hear what the problem is.
I'd rather push my Ford than drive anything else. Aren't Kia's the things you buy at the toy store, hanging on the display in a bubble pack?

Yep .. those are the ones ..
Well that really stinks. I personally think we have another TritonXLT in the making.
Hard to crack on the KIA guy until you have to take him to the shop. I'd personally walk from the dealership over having the KIA guy pick me up though.

Screw the other truck guys (we all know they have P3NIS) envy....but the KIA guy...if I were you....when you get your truck back, I would run over that KIA and flatten it like a pancake...we all know what our trucks will do to a KIA already....

For the record i wouldn't be seen dead in a Kia...last time i was in anything even remotly close to a Kia was when i was at Disneyland driving the cars on the Utopia ride years ago...
and im no triton...my garage is intact.
Got a call from the service dept. they told me they ran every test they could on it and all came up negitive, no codes came up. When i said your sure? he told me "believe me he went through everything", the tech does not get paid if they find nothing wrong.
So, back i go to pick it up (and not in the Kia).
He also said it may be bad gas
I have been going to Arco (least expensive in my area), so maybe i will switch to Chevron (a few pennies more) and see what happens. Gas is 2.52 a gallon here.

As part of the instructions / recommendations that came with my Xcalibrator from Troyer, it was mentioned that quality gas must be used, and Union 76 was mentioned. I didn't use it at first because I had a full tank already of cheaper gas, but when that tank was done, I put in Union 76. There was a noticeable difference in performance. Give it a shot.
Sounds like good advice DA, no more Arco for me, will be interesting to see what happens. The service guy i always deal with defineatly has nothing nice to say regarding Arco gas.
Then again we run it in the wifes '04 Explorer and have never had a problem.
