Brake Update on Rotors/Porterfields/Dealer Help...Info Wanted!

This will be a long post for me...as many of you might know, I have had problems with brake noise and warped rotors since I bought my 2004 FX4 Screw. I now have almost 20,000 miles on it and have had 3 brand new sets of brakes installed on the front and 1 new set on the rear...the noise is still present...warping has been cured. Anyway, the dealer had an engineer come out and talk to me and he agreed to do the following for me:

Install brand new (updated Ford) rotors on all four wheels and install Porterfield pads (1011 and 1012). The only catch is that I have to buy the pads...they will give me the four new rotors and will not charge for the installation. How does this sound to you guys? I thought it was a nice gesture (the four new rotors) since they are very expensive.

Also, the parts and service manager said that the Porterfields will 'eat up' my rotors and cause excessive heat...and he advised against it. Of course, when I contacted Porterfield, they said that the service manager is full of ***** and that the porterfields are no worse that the factory pads in terms of wear on the rotors.

So, here is my question: Has anyone had the Porterfields on their truck for a while (at least 10k - 15k miles) and if so, what do you have to say about the Porterfields and the wear on the rotors?

Thanks a lot guys...I am asking all of this since if I agree to do this, the brakes become my problem and Ford will no longer assist me.

I would do it! I too had all the brake problems on my 05. Ford put the updated rotors on mine at 14k miles, by 15k they were already grooved from the stock pads! I put the porterfields on at my own expense and they have been on for about 3k miles. I swear the rotors look better already and the dust and noise are gone. They really are a great pad IMO.

I don't know how many times I have to keep posting this same info, but AGAIN, I have 12k miles on mine pads now and no problems at all with the pads or the stock rotors!!!! Buy your pads yourself and if they give you free rotors, that's great.

alright, the porterfields are on the truck with new rotors...so far, no noise (obviously)...they look different (the pad material) and smell different (when brakes applied)...my stock pads look like sandpaper in comparison and they were glazed real bad! No wonder I had all the problems...
