Shock upgrade

I know this has been discussed alot, but was wondering how many of you have noticed a big difference in changing shocks. what I would like to improve is the wash board effect (seems like i feel every crack in the road) at all speeds. Thinking about ordering some Bilsteins any info would be appreciated. BTW they will be going on a 2004 supercab FX4

I feel sorry for you 4wd guys. When I bought my 2wd Lariat, I was dismayed at how harsh the ride was. After a week I could no longer tolerate it and picked up a full set of Monroe Reflex shocks (the best available in stock at the local parts house). For about $160 I was amazed at the difference. This is the third vehicle on which I've installed Reflex shocks and they rock in my opinion.

Oh, and any factory shock with more than 20K miles on it is most likely shot anyway. 90% of the vehicles on the road have bad shocks and nobody knows the difference.

Basically it comes down to Bilsteins or Rancho 9000RSXs for me. Personally if I upgrade my shocks before I get my lift, Im going to go with the Ranchos just because of the adjustability. I hope that helps out!

I was thinking about swapping the shocks on my 05 too. Tell more, what year and cab do you have, did it help with any vib issues or did you not have any to begin with?
Thanks,
