Power Point Question

I'm pretty sure I read the answer to this here, but I've had no luck finding it with the search.

Anyway, the question is this...Do either the cigarette lighter or power point on the dash lose power when the ignition is off? I'd like my radar detector to switch off when the truck's off, but it appears that both have retained power on my truck.

Both are powered at all times.

I tied mine into the overhead console lights, it chirps and tests whenever I come back to the truck after being away for too long.... isn't that sweet

I know on my FX4, after 10 minutes or so, the outlet will shut off, as a power drain is detected by the ECU, and the circuit will have power terminated to it to prevent battery drain....

Just like leaving the dome light on...
