Troyer Xcal 2

Sorry Guys Im a nuby, and this is my first truck i have ever own. I used to be a car guy, but living on the big Island of hawaii made that kind of hard. Anyway I have a 2004 F-150 Screw XLT 5.4 w/3.73 LS and I love this truck and I plan on adding stuff to It. But first things first, I want to add some power to It (like everybody) and was thinking of adding an intake and some kind of superchip program, but I keep hearing about the Troyer Xcal 2, what is that, how much power does that give, and do I need the other 2 things I talked about if I get the Xcal 2.

Welcome to the forum Hotboy8055 and Congrats on the new ride

The XCal2 is the (#1) biggest bang for the buck mod you can do followed by (#2) Airforce One intake and (#3) Magnaflow cat-back exhaust. From there, the list goes on and on and on for bolt-on mods; it’s never ending just about, so keep your credit card handy

Look around the “Chips & Programming” forum for lots of information on the XCal2, and most of the other bolt-on mods are discussed in-depth there too.

The custom tunes is what you lay down the cabbage for, not the hardware

Of course that doesn't include the discount Mike gives site members and there is also this:
"The XCalibrator 2 arrives pre-Loaded with up to 3 SCT Calibrations "

That sounds like a generic tune, not a custom.

if you guys did some research instead of jumping to conclusions youd see that Doug does all his own programming as well, its all custom tuned. Im waiting on some numbers from doug to compare to troyers stuff

i dont know how much more custom you can get, i mean he actually goes to the dyno with people (at least local to him) and tunes it right there. i know there is at least one member on here who has had that done with doug. i think some peoples heads are too filled with Troyer to be a little more open minded to some -gasp- competition

BTW that quote is DIRECTLY from his site. If he is shipping them with custom instead of generic SCT tunes, why does he say it's shipping the the SCT's?

I'm sure he CAN do the custom, my comment was based upon the fact that it looks like he doesn't for that price.

oh i apologize then. he does do all custom tuning, but he works hand in hand with Brian Herron who used to run Apten Performance and now works for SCT. i assure you his pricing does include the custom tuning. im not trying to stir things up with troyer people and im sorry if it seems that way. i know Troyer has excellent programming, i wont argue with that, just letting others know that someone else is selling it for cheaper.

that tells me that the guy who runs his website does not keep up to date, i know of at least four new F150s right off hand that have his tuning, so unless you know something, dont go shooting your mouth off, your liable to be proven wrong
