Check out the Ford website, they are also showing the "family" deal price as well. Definately a good time to buy and there is a ton of info there too. Good luck.

I just bought my truck for 26,000, sticker price was 34,500. It's a loaded XLT 4x2 with the 5.4. It had a bunch of extra's that I really didn't care about: deluxe mirror package, power adjustable pedal's, captain's chairs, 6 disc indash mp3 player, but with the family plan price it came out to only 600 dollars difference between my truck and the one with out any of these options. The sticker price between the 2 trucks was close to 2,000 difference, but the family plan brought the price close together.

Absolutely SUCKS that the family plan ends today... I'm not ready for another 3 or 4 weeks yet

If you bought today on the last day of the "family plan" you could probably get into one for under 22k.

Lately they've been asking too much for too little. The other day just out of
curiousity I decided too drive through the dealers storage lot where I bought
my '04 and there sat the same exact truck as mine ( set up and color ) with
only one difference, it had the mp3 feature on the stereo that mine doesn't
have and the sticker was almost $3k more ?????? what's with that ????
Good luck on your search for a new rig.
I also didn't have the " you pay what we pay " or family plan crap options
then either ....
Though I am a better chuck and jive artist than any of the nerds in that
particular dealership and did get myself a pretty good deal, a lot will be
based on your ability too play their cheaters game and beat them at it...

What cab? what wheelbase?
Options? They are all different based on what they are.
A supercab is more than a reg cab, etc.

I bought my 05 XLT 2wd SCREW with 5.4 and 3.73 Limited Slip gears, tow package, 6 disc w/mp3 (which by the way is a really good mp3 cd player imho) and bed extender for $23K plus tax, lic. Ended up around $26K at the dealership. I then added a 7yr/100K warranty through my Credit Union for $1100 + $200 for GAP (must have in my opinion). My total was around $27,300. The sticker was around $33K, so almost $10K off. I have always thought that somewhere around 25% off sticker price is a good deal. I got a little better than that.

20% off MSRP is very good
25% off MSRP is excellent
30% + off MSRP is phenomenal, generally teasers / past year models

There are always good deals near the end and past the model year, take your time.

Also very important:
if you get your financing in order before you sign, you will have a big advantage,
say through a credit union or your family bank...

Again, take your time.
Find something you really like.

'01 to a '05? Boy are you in for a treat!

Best of luck,

-Ron

Got my 2005 XLT Super Cab 5.4L 3.55LS tow package for $20,000 back in March. Would have gladly paid the extra $1000 at a different dealer in retrospect, though.

Got my XLT SCREW for $24,200 OTD in March. 2wd, 5.4L, all power accessories, 6 disc CD changer, bedliner. I got the D-Plan on mine because my brother works for Ford, but I think you can get somewhere close to the same deal now without "knowing somebody".
