holy poop! .. my trucks heavy...

Well i took my truck to the scales today. My truck came in at 6260lbs.

Thats with just me in my truck, and just under half a tank of gas.

Although i do have a lift, running 35's and a stereo system which adds a fair amount of weight i would assume..

mabey this is another reason why the 300HP doesnt feel like 300HP, my old truck was around 5000lbs (once again lifted with 35's and a stereo).

Just wanted to share my weight incase people were wondering how much this trucks weight.

Looking at your sig I see you have a 4x2 Scab. Just look on your door jam, it'll give the stock weight.

has anyone seen those magazine adds for the f150? it shows a picture of a frame from an 04 f150 and a fame from a silverado. and on the f150 there is an extra big piece of metal that surrounds the front of the engine. yea this may be better safety but they also say it strengthens it. i dont know how. its just a heavy piece of metal around the engine. they are just adding weights on the the truck to make it heavier. if they didnt have a 300hp engine under the hood, id be afraid to drive it. im not saying i dont like these trucks, i love them its just i do believe they did make them a little heavy.

The weight listed on the door is GVWR or gross vehicle weight restriction. That weight will be ~ 7,000lbs+, and is the maximum weight the truck is supposed to weigh with passengers, cargo, and whatever else and still drive safely on stock suspension.......this is not what the truck weighs. What you are looking for is known as "curb" weight and will be a much lower number, probably around 5000-5400lbs for that particular truck. Curb weight is just the truck, all fluids, a full tank of gas on the standard size tank (27 gal), and no passengers.
