Steering wheel nibble solved??
Steering wheel nibble solved??
I think I've solve my steering wheel wobble problem. Not sure it'll work for all, but here is my sequence of events...
Dealer replaced front rotors under warranty
(still wobbling pretty bad @ 65/mph)
I immediatley replaced front brake pads with Napa ceramics
(wobble only a bit improved)
Installed Bilstein front/rear shocks.
I think the Bilsteins did it!! My steering wheel nibble is completely gone. The difference in ride is night & day.
I love my truck again!!

Well that is what i will mention to my dealer next trip. They replaced the steering rack and front roters last visit. That did reduce the nibble a bit, but it is still there.
I am also going to get the ceramic brake pads as the factory ones just create to much work for me when it comes to washing my rims.
Later Trev

Warped brake rotors are only going to cause a problem when the brakes are applied. Mine was jerking pretty bad under braking at interstate speeds. Had rotors replaced Monday and so far all is good. They didn't replace the pads though so maybe this is a good time to get some Porterfields.

Do you mean when braking? If so, take it in and they'll give you new rotors under the TSB.
If it does that when your stopped, find a priest.

maybe between 40-45 mph has a slight nibbe but that happen in my 01, my 04, and my dad's 04. Guess thats common. Think thats the transmission. XCAL tunes should fix that. Just hesitant about the tuners. But like i said when stopped has a rough idle. Tachometer is not budging though so i dont think i should worry bout that one.

Also at 22k the ride is not like it was new. I'm all for new shocks but are this bilsteins that good or would a new shock replacement give the feeling of better ride with any quality brand. My 99 150 rode really bad at 60k . My tires where old but not bald . Guy told me they break down inside . So new tires went on also felt like they replaced the shocks too. Ride was back to new.
