Need feedback/suggestions

I'm taking my truck into the Ford dealer tomorrow to have some stuff checked out.

1 - Brakes (lurching when slowing making me think the rotors are warped)
2 - A/C (doesn't blow "cold" air until about 30 minutes down the road
3 - Rear sliding window (doesn't always open when hitting the button)
4 - Stereo (display doesn't display radio name right)
5 - MPG (i'm only getting 10-12 mpg)

Just curious as to what you guys think, if you've had any of this stuff checked out. I like to try to be prepared for the "sorry that's just how it is" talk being that I'm a girl and I obviously know nothing and should just be excited that there's a vanity mirror

Is the MPG something to even bring up? I thought we were supposed to get 12-16 or something. I'm lucky if I hit 12.

Thanks in advance!!!

I just drove it off the lot on Saturday and the best I have gotten was 12.8 MPG.

Sorry you are having all those problems.

1. Had my rotors changed today, stops great again.

2. Had A/C checked while it was there, blowing 51 out of the vents after a freeway drive. They said that's perfectly acceptable in 110 degree weather. Doesn't get as cool as quick around town.

3. ?

4. Maybe something wrong, have you tried a different station or the same station in another car?

5. How many miles do you have? It gets a little better.

I actually tested the A/C today on the way home. I checked the charge a while back so I know that part is right. After driving for about 30 minutes with it on Max A/C (recirc. and top vents) it was 44-46 out of the center vents and about 52 with it on normal A/C. It was 100 degrees outside today and the humidity was horrible so I think that is awesome. It sits out in the sun all day at work and it does take it a little bit to get the heat out of the cab I have noticed, but it is a big cab and I have all fabric seats so they soak in the heat. So take this into consideration before thinking there is something wrong with the A/C. Get a thermometer and stick in in the center vents sometime. Gas mileage does get a lot better with miles. I started at about 15 mpg BEST mostly highway when it was new, and I regularly get 17-17.5 now with 12,000 miles. The radio sounds like some of the pixels are "broken" or not working correctly. Nothing a new radio won't fix. And you don't happen to have any pics of you and your truck do you??????

1 - Brakes (lurching when slowing making me think the rotors are warped)
On my 3rd set of revised Rotors! Good luck!
2 - A/C (doesn't blow "cold" air until about 30 minutes down the road
Was told this was normal operation. Although now for some reason it works a bit better after they did nothing.
3 - Rear sliding window (doesn't always open when hitting the button)
Check the lock out on the window. I had the switch replaced, the track replaced and now a whole new rear window assembly. It works now and I have not had any problems.
4 - Stereo (display doesn't display radio name right)
I would ask for a new one
5 - MPG (i'm only getting 10-12 mpg)
I was told Ford has 3 stages of 'break in', 1 stage dumps a lot of fuel to get the parts use to each other till 5K, second steps leans out the mixture at 10K, then at 15K I should be good. I have 18K on the truck and get 15 city and around 18~19 all highway.

I hope this is helpful! I love the truck but I seem to have gotten a lemon. I have contacted Ford 3 times, and talked to a local rep a couple of times. Each time they fix it for about 3K miles and then it goes back in. I did finally get rid of the vib after new tires. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Yea, but I know how it works.... "oh here's a girl, she knows nothing, let's bend her over w/o vasaline..." I just like to have an idea if my way of thinking that all of this should be fixed is right or if I really should deal with it.

Cool...I love porno talk! Really though, I've had most of the same concerns with mine as you have. Keep after it and they will all get fixed. I do think your gas mileage is pretty much on the money for these monsters though.

Wow, I wish I could get my wife to talk dirty like that!

I've actually taken excerpts of these foroums to my stealership concerning specific issues to be fixed. Like you said, better to arm yourself with knowledge. I think the mechanics appreciate some extra info, instead of, "oh, it makes this kinda noise". Good luck.

Nice photos racerchick. My first jetski race was at Folsom and got the old Expedition at Folsom Ford.

Good luck with the truck. My milage is going down each day. After today when the lift goes on it should be as bad as my last F150

Try to keep the RPMs below or at 2000, it'll help a lot. These trucks do get a lot better gas mileage as they break in. I was getting 15 mpg in the city untill I put my new tires on and now Im getting about 13.7.
