IMCO Dual Exhaust pipes

Has anyone used IMCO Dual Exhaust pipes on the 2004 F150. I bought a set off of ebay, and I'm having a heck of a time figuring out how to install them. Nothing is lining up right.

Has anyone done their own CatBack exhaust kit and could give me some tips on where to attach the brackets to, etc. Thanks

Since the F150s have different size beds....one of the pipes might need to be cut. When I got my Magnaflow exhaust I had the same problem, nothing lined up right. You should have a long pipe that leads to the muffler, and from the muffler you have two pipes that go over the axle and out the back. That first long pipe that leads to the muffler is the one that you might have to cut. Try, working from the back (tips first) toward the front, and see if things line up better....if they do, then you know you need to cut that pipe. If not, then you either got the wrong kit, or the quality of it might not be good and you might have to take it to an exhaust shop for them to make it work.

I did my american thunder catback SIDO. Rear exits. There was only one hanger bracket I had to install, and it is on the driver side frame rail. On the inside, nxt to the spare tire, and I believe it is even direct center on the spare tire.

I remember when I did, i had to hold the nut inside the frame rail with my finger, hold the bracket up, put the bolt in and finger tighten. Then I had a hard time getting it tight since you can't get a wrench inside the frame. I ended up putting a star washer on the inside (between bolt and frame) this way I finger tightened and then wrenched the outside. Nice and tight now.

That make sense? Feel like I just rambled on and on...

Good stuff. Could you give me a general idea of where to put the brackets at? I figure i need two brackets near the rear bumper where the tips come out, and then two up by the muffler. Right.

Did you drill any holes in the frame, or did you use existing holes.

I didn't drill any holes. The kit only added the one bracket on the driver side. It is where the passenger side bracket is, just on the opposite side of the truck. Everthing else is in the factory spots.
