That’s one heck of a hit you took there, but by comparison, you came out on top. You might have a bent frame. Sorry to see your ride messed up like that; glade you weren’t hurt, that’s the most important thing

really? wow, i thought for sure that they would at a higher speed collision due to your body coming forward so much- risk of slamming the steering wheel, but i guess your gravity tensioners would restrain you enough now that i think about it from when i was hit... thanks for the info

The RCM senses the rate of deceleration and the severity of a forward impact to determine when to deploy an airbag.

Sorry to hear about your loss...

A customer of mine blew a tire in his '04 FX4 and flew off of a mountain, and walked away with a couple bruises and scrapes, no doubt partly because of Ford's five star rating on the F-150. So about two weeks ago, he came and bought another F150 FX4 from me, cash. Smart man...

If she hit you from behind, it's her fault (in most states). No worries, man. You'll get it fixed up, good as new. Keep us in the loop...

Drove to work this am too. Didnt feel any different up to 80 or so.

So my list is

New Bed
New Bumper
New Taillight
New Tailgate

And it may have pushed just the very corner of the driver side frame rail up a hair.

Dangit, I wanna Mod the Front of the truck, not the rear.

Climb under your 04 Ford Rear End sometime and see how much steel they put back there. Its pretty impressive. Also the towing bar ties the whole back end together to make it even more stronger. That rear end can take a pretty good hit without taking much damage.

Check out ebay for Beds, taillights, bumpers and what not. You can get them pretty cheap. Also, www.car-parts.com has a ton of stuff.

Get the money off of her insurance comapny, and do the repairs yourself. Its not that hard at all to swap out the bed. Go get it painted, and you're good to go. Probably can pocket some nice cash for the work.

Sorry about the accident and glad everything is OK.

Now for the insurance hassle...

On an unrelated note, I totaled my '01 Elantra on Mother's Day (Expy pulled out in front of me... ... BAM) and this is the reason I have my F-150 today!
