AFE New Intake

The intake I have been waiting for was just released. Dont know if this is a repost but anyways... Advanced Flow Engineering just released their new CAI for the 04/05 F-150.... However the price is absolutely ridiculous!

It doesn’t look that hot. It’s plastic and the filter isn’t even a “Power Stack”

It looks good, but that's an awful lot of cash for an intake.

Where's Mikey when you need him...

I didn't mean it like that, RP. Hell, might experiment with it myself if/when I get the dollars together. Looks like a well finished kit at least, plastic ducting aside.

Why experiment? Mike has extensively R&D the AF1 and gave it the thumbs up. If you read through his numerous post on the subject, he R&D’s every cold air intake that hits the market that looks like it might have potential. Personally, I trust his recommendations based on his fourteen years experience specializing in the F150 platform

Haven't you ever blown your eyebrows off with a chemistry kit when you were a kid?

I think it looks pretty sharp. As for the plastic tube, it's prolly god thing as it will hold less heat & shed it quicker than any metal one. Also having a "power stack" at the end of an element isn't going to make a bit of difference when the element itself is that big. There is only so much air an engine can naturally suck in. Price is about $200 to high for me though. Maybe if it were at the $300 mark it would be a contender. Bottom line is if you want it & are willing to pay the $ then go for it. F what everone else says (inculding me if need be...lol).
