Hey guys...i have a bright red screw and have been thinking about putting some chrome on it like gas cap,bull bar(possibly handles) What do you think of chrome and red? some people it just looks more like a firetruck lol but i got a thing for chrome. Would you chrome it out and get rid of the black?

 

i personally think chrome makes a truck look kind of cheesy.

too much. IMO, get the painted LT buckets w/chrome handles, and some type of polished grille (billet?) and call it a day. going overboard with chrome looks ghetto...

 

Myself I like to keep things simple. Like on your truck I wish they would put red flares on the FX4's instead of black. Those bull bars are okay I guess, just hate to go any farther than that. To me a red FX4 with red flares, leveled with 35X12/50's would be sweet left alone! I'm a purist when it comes to my red paint I guess.

Don't mean to hijack...do they make a SOLID red Lariat Screw? That would be another good choice to me.

 

Its all in the eye of the beholder, i say do whay YOU want. Before i bought my Westin nerf bars i had to choose between chrome and black. I personally like black better when dealing with the red so thats what i bought.
I also would not mess with the back lights, like some others said, too much "bling" and your nice lookin truck starts to look cheesy. (IMO)

 

i LOVE chrome and bright red. however, you have black fender flares and red/black bumpers. if you had chrome bumbers i would say def do it. If you were to do it, it would be different from all the red/black trucks. IMHO you already have chrome/polished nerf bars so any added chrome wouldn't look out of place

 

Every time I see a red FX4 I wish I would have gotten one . Like the other guys said, if you had chrome bumpers it would look good but since you dont I probably wont look that great. It's your truck so do whatever you think looks good.

Chrome Bullbar, LT Handles, and keep the fender flares black.

 

I did the chrome lt handles and chrome lt grille on my red fx4. I think it looks great, but chrome on red needs to be done in moderation I believe. I think the gas door would look cheesy, and I prefer the chrome taillights on lighter color vehicles like grey or white, but on red, the red taillights work perfectly, so I don't see any room to change them. I did the lincoln mark lt coversion, but stayed away from the chrome rocker panels as I thought it would be too much. I don't plan on adding any more chrome to the front either.

This will give you a little idea of what the chrome will look like in red. With the Mark LT handles, I had to order them in silver, sand them down and then paint them.

 

How much were the LT handles? I have a lariat supercrew red with arizona beige two tone and thinking about chrome handles or LT. Have chrome bedrails and tubular step bars. Would handles be too much chrome?

thanks for all the opinions..i actually like the black buckets on the truck. If only i could get the chrome handles? I've seen the billet handles but the price is outrageous for 4 handles.
