Sorry to hear about your problems, but it seems the longer we own these new Fords, the faster they fall apart. Im still waiting for them to get my steering wheel vibe fixed, as well as the random stalling problem.
Good luck getting your truck fixed.

Mine has just under 3000 miles. I hope I don't run into any problems. So far I love this truck. I have always preferred Fords over any other
I've got the extended warranty and I'll use it

Noticed another noise driving home from the beach sounded like my transfer case was making all kinds of noises, but right now I really don't care. The dealer is going to have to fix all the problems. I tried to rotate my tires to fix the steering wheel shimmy, its a little better but its not right yet.

I love my truck even though it has it share of problems too. I have the steering wheel shimmy, brakes suck got them replaced at 24k and the are warped again. Had ring and pinion replace after 7 trips to the dealership. And my rear leafs creak too.

I still love the truck, and it is by far the nicest truck I have driven, I constantly get compliments on its looks, as well as its ride. The thing tows like a beast, and it will get up and go pretty good for a 6k# truck.

I will deal with my little problems because it is still better than driving a chevy, titan, or tundra!

Not to start a feud or anything, but it seems alot of these shimmy, shanke and vibe problems are on the 2004 trucks. Mine is a 2005, and is rock solid thus far. Maybe there were improvements for 2005, or maybe I just haven't logged enough miles yet...

sidehop over bumps

Sounds like my last truck!
I had a P.O.S. Dakota that would scare the crap out of me when I'd drive over bumps.
With my new baby I hit some uneven pavement on a ramp at high speed and it handled beautifully.

Im just glad mine isn't the dreaded "vibe" Ive ridden in another F-150 with the problem which was an 05 and it was horrible, I thought it was going to start coming apart.

I wonder if at least part of the problem with the rear end being unstable when you hit a pot hole, train track etc might be because of the stock shocks wearing out. My truck never did this when it was new but it does it every time I cross a train track now. I will occasionally get a slight shimmy in the steering wheel at highway speeds but it is slight at most and not consistant at all. Sometimes it's there and most of the time it's not. Mostly noticable on uneven roads/highways. It wasn't there a few months ago. I am running 285/50/20 tires so they are larger than stock. I'm sure the larger wheels/tires sped up the wear and tear on the shocks. I plan on replacing mine sometime in the near future. Has anyone with a steering wheel shimmy/nibble tried a steering stabilizer? Did it help?

The shocks wear out too fast. Faster than I've ever seen.

I love my truck and also getting tons of compliments, but it is a royal pain in the a$$ to bring the truck in numerous times to fix the same problem, without getting it fixed.
I can handle a monthly service visit, but when it become a weekly visit it really gets old fast.

I will be bringing mine back in monday and they better get it fixed right as i have a long road trip planned.
Later Trev

Im underage so they won't let me have a rental. So I'll be taking my dad's 02 F-250 for a little while.
