I love the Magnaflow "Lightning style" side exit exhaust. It looks sweet as hell. Does anyone have any sound bites. Thanks

One thing that worried me about the lightning style exhaust was if the exhaust over time gets onto the rim. I like the lightning style as well but I plan on putting some 22s on and they don't come cheap. I'd hate to replace the one every couple years or so.

Just for looks. A dual rear exhuast will cost you more ... simply because more material is involved. Also, if you tow a boat/trailer/etc, some folks worry about the exhaust exiting directly onto whatever they're pulling. It can potentially discolor it, etc. after extensive use.

Some folks have reported excessive sound with side exits (ahead of wheel), especially with the passenger side windows down (cruisin'). Also, the dreaded cabin drone with some brands of mufflers can be a real PITA. Magnaflow seems to moot the drone issue.

I have the MAC side exit exhaust on my truck and the noise is relatively low at constant speed. Its of course louder when accelerating but that the point. The kit was alot cheaper than the magnaflow kit and the install was simple.

I like side exit personally. I think too many people do straight out the back and I hate the way it looks and sounds. Looks cheap IMHO. Plus, people who have loud straight out the back you hear them drive by quiet and then once they pass then you hear the loud exhaust.

If you want single tip, then go behing the rear wheel in the stock place. If you want dual exhaust, then go side exit infront of the rear wheel. Or just dump the exhaust under the truck somewhere and don't have a tip that's easily seen.

I had Magnaflow Cat-back on my truck and had no cab noise at all. Previous to that I had just the stock muffler cut off and it had a LOT of drone in the cab when accelerating. Not that bad when crusing on the interstate.

I got the Magnaflow dual side exit catback and I got it to be different. Sooooo many people have duals out the back. I have had it on for about a year now and have not noticed any residue or exhaust grime on my rear wheel.

One thing that sucks is that no matter where you have the tips, they will get dirty pretty quick due to the big open rear wheelwells. They get speckled with road tar, etc. It takes a lot of elbow grease to keep them clean and polished.

I guess I'm one of the sheeple that like them straight out the back under the bumper. Just the way I think it should be.

As long as it's loud, I'm ok with it!

Come on Borla!
