Confused about Grilles....

All - I've been looking for a replacement billet grille for some time now for my '05 Lariat Screw. I'd like a replacement with the polished billet and the "surround" piece (currently chrome on my Lariat) to be in gloss black to match my truck....anyone help? A ways back someone posted the pic of an '05 4x4 that he drove home from the dealer in the rain. He snapped a pic of it in his driveway (his wife wouldn't let him keep it) but that was the EXACT grille I want for mine.....can't seem to find it though....only overlays or replacement grills with the chrome surround.......

very simple, remove your grille and you then need to find a black surround piece from a XLT or FX4 owner. If it still has the center honeycomb (or H-bar) grille, then remove that and install a replacement billet one.

Hey - it would be a great road trip for ya in that new truck!! Looks nice - is it an LT with a changed front bumper or a "dressed up" F-150??

Thanks guys for the suggestions....I may call my OEM parts guy and see what he would sell me the painted gloss surround for.....out local bodyshops here are outrageous when it comes to wanting anything smaller than a full paint job and purposely quote high prices - so they don't have to mess with it.....

Steve - good idea - that way I save my orig. Lariat grille in case I ever want to put it back on or sell the truck! Only issue is I just spoke with my Ford guy and he can only get Ford grilles in the PTM.......hmmm anybody have an FTX or XL (black surround) grille for sale....shoot me and e-mail if you do.

OK - thanks to you guys for "schooling" me on the various grille options .....now what are the best brands for a "replacement" billet grille & matching bumper insert....I've been looking at the Carriage Works at Moss motors - any other suggestions?
