Why the difference in cost between the Tan and Black Leather Mark LT Shifter?

Anyone know why there is a huge difference in cost between the tan and black leather shifter from the Mark LT?

Tan = $50
Black = $10

Why is this? No dealership has a clue.

Maybe they found a bunch of black cows and had a tough time finding the right shade of brown ones...

lol FoMoCo is so stupid....I can't believe there is no logical explanation for this! I mean some idiot probably keyed it in wrong and there is nobody brave enough to check it and say, hmm this isn't right.

Black cows are in abundance after the aliens took all the brown leathered cows...the black handles are probably tan just died black anyways

This is going out on a limb, but being a horseback riding and all of my equipment being made of leather (now, now boys, keep your minds out of the gutter! ) I will take a stab.

Since the tan leather is obviously lighter than the black, you have to make sure you are getting leather that has no scratches or blemishes on it. The black leather can have these as the black dye will conseal them. Keeping cows from scratching or cutting themselves while they are still alive isnt an easy task, esp since the majority of the cow farmers use barbwire still. Though for those expensive Bentleys, they purchase leather from Iceland where the cows roam free and cannot scratch themselves on the fence. Just a little FYI.

Thats my guess.

So I called Ford Customer Service and even they don't know why there is a difference in cost.

Quentin, any ideas?

Anyone out there working for Ford willing to buy the tan shifter for me at your cost and then only slightly mark it up and I'll buy it from you?

Many thanks!

Duke
