900 Miles This Weekend.

I just returned from moving my daughter to college in San Francisco in my '04 Super Crew and noticed that I averaged 13 miles per gallon. The bed was loaded and covered with a Stugtop to protect the cargo. I have a 6" Fabtech lift, B.F.Goodrich 35's, and a stock intake and exhaust system. I set the cruise control at 70 mph and just cruised with the air conditioner on pretty much all the way. The tach was registering about 2300-2400 rpm's on the way up to San Francisco and with an empty load on the way home the tach registered about 1900 rpm's at the same speed. It was the most comfortable long trip I ever made....FORD IS THE BEST!

It is amazing how you can jack a truck up, put bigger tires on, modify in other ways, and it STILL is extremely fun and comfortable to drive long distances isn't it?

I love em
