this happen to anyone?

05 f150 screw lariat:
just wondering if this has happened to anyone here. I live in an area with steep grades, and when i pull up the grade, the pickup just lays down on me, sitting at 3k in 4th gear and won't shift, barely keeping the speed up. When i get to the top, it finally gets going again, but then on cruise at 60 in od on the flats, it shakes terribly. If i drive it for a bit slowing down to 30 or so and then giving it full throttle, it usually clears it up and then it drives nice and smooth. But this problem doesn't seem normal to me, and i have heard of one other person in my area with the same problem, he took his to ford 3 times before they fixed it.

First of all it is in 3rd gear is it is turning 3,000 RPM @60 mph, not 4th but it should downshift to 2nd if below like 70 mph if you give it full throttle. The vibration problem sounds the parking brake dragging that many people on this board have a problem with. The little adjuster/cam piece in the parking brake rusts up and siezes and it doesn't completely release, which when it drags it makes the whole truck vibrate when it heats up. Either take it to the dealer and tell them that you think that is the problem or just take your back wheels off and take the disc off and check that little adjuster for rust and make sure it is working ok. Check out this thread to see what I am talking about https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...=parking+brake . Hope this helps!!!

I'll check it out, but the vibration only occurs after it refuses to shift, and then it is from 40-70 mph, any faster or slower it goes away, but when it is vibrating, i have no throttle response, step on it and it acts like it is pulling timing or something of the sort. I'll give ford a buzz.

Hmmmm that does sound like something different. The parking brake bug is a constant vibration at highway speeds, but the truck should still shift and such.

i have the same shifting problem. I plan on asking the dealer about the TSB for reflashing my pcm when i go in for my 5k oil change.

Im hoping that will fix it. there is a big hill by where i live and when i go up it my truck will just stay around 2800-3500rpm (not really sure) and ill be going around 40mph. it will be like that at 3/4 throttle mabey, ill floor it and it just says there, doesnt downshift, doesnt rev up more just acts as if my foot never moved. (DAMN THROTTLE BY WIRE PIECE OF CRAP!).
