Regional rep wants to exchange my truck, what should I do?

Well, bottom line is that I love my truck but, have don't have much confidence in it anymore. It has been in the shop 54 days since I bought it in Oct 04, and the rep wants to exchange it instead of filing for DRP (requisition), formerly known as the DSB. The rep said something about me coming out even, but I am not willing to pay .01 more considering all the time I wasted taking this to the dealer and driving a taurus as a loaner.

Has anyone else exchanged there truck, and what the hell does that mean? Will the exchange be for an 05, or a used 04? What kind of deal will they give me? Will I be charged for mileage, and if so how much? What if they dont have an similar model? Would I be better off completing the DRP paperwork and have Ford buy my truck back, and buy an 06 with an X-plan?

I recently had the same experience where Ford bought back my 04 F150 Supercab, fortunately they still had some 04's out there so I was able to get into a new F150 Supercrew for no additional money. They even removed my old stereo equipment and put back the factory stuff for me. Can be a very fair exchange if you get all of the details ahead of time and make it clear what you want and how you want it done. Good luck!
