Painted to match Ford Fender Flares info...

Since I have an FX4, I was trying to find if I could get fender flares from the factory that were already painted to match my bright red exterior. Here is what my brother dug up for me...

The fender flares do not come painted, but are ordered as XLT, Lariat, King Ranch flares, and are smooth finish ready to paint. His prices were as follows for the supercrew. $80.56 X 2 and $41.21 X 2 = $243.54 + 10% = $267.89 + tax. This is what my brother could get them for at cost + 10%, then add tax. After forking over nearly $300, then, you have to go get them painted. Paying retail for them will be much higher.

I am planning on just taking my fender flares and mirrors in and having them painted to match the exterior. I might do a few of the interior parts while I'm at it.

Just thought some of you would like to know this information.

IMHO painting the entire mirror will make it look cheesy. if you do paint, just paint the top half. if you find some pics with painted ones youll see, the triangle of plastic on the door is HUGE and it sticks out like a sore thumb when painted.

I plan to get a set of wind visors for the front and rear windows that will be painted as well. I think that will help the flow off that triangular part. That will be the only textured flat black piece that is readily visible on the exterior, so I think something needs to be done with it, and I don't think painting only the top half will do. If I go that route, I would just go with the LT chrome covers.

Thanks for the input though, I had thought about that since those mirrors are so damn bulky. I wish I could go with the smaller euro design type, but with the trailers I'll be pulling, these have to stay.
