That is good news, I will have to check my local Wally World. I know they didn't carrying it for a while, no fault of theirs from what I understand.

In the Portland vicinity, Wally's still stocks the Motorcraft 10W30, etc. (likely surplus stock), but 5W20 oil and 820S filters have gone extinct.

I was told by a Wal-Mart automotive manager a couple of weeks ago that they again would begin stocking Motorcraft oil.

No more motorcraft 5w20 or 820s filters here as well. I have since ordered 820s filters online in bulk and started buying the 5w20 from Advance auto.

I got some 5W20 at one of our nearby Wal-Marts (Avon) $1.88/qt.

No filters to be found though.

Okay.....this is a dumb question, but I'm new to Fords, but why does the F150 require such an oddball grade of oil??? I'd never heard of a 5W20 until I bought mine.

Depends on who you ask. The designers say it's partially for gas mileage, and partially because thinner oil gets to the top of the overhead cam quicker.
Both are true.
Both have strong (read fanatic) defenders.
Pays your money, takes your choice.

Based on my own reading (hundred or so articles, a few posts, etc.) I am going to continue using their recommended oil weight until at least 20k miles. No reason in the world not to. Motorcraft sythetic blend is very good oil, and quite cheap, even after the 46 cent a quart Walleyworld added.

hey, sure enough my W-M now has Motorcraft oil again too for $1.88. Used to be $1.48. They had the 820S filters too for around $3-something. I went to Pep Boys right after that and they didn't have the oil, but the filters for $4.99.

I was at WallyWorld last week and notice a bunch of filters (820s), so I bought eight of them for just under $3 a piece.

When Wally World quit carrying it the earlier, I checked with my local Ford Dealer and bought a case for $1.75 a qt. I guess I will keep going to the dealer for oil as long as they are cheaper than anywhere else. It is good to see W M carrying it again though.
