"ignition switch" for gauge use?

what is a good wire to run the "ignition switch" for a hot wire for an autometer trans guage....i have one wire going to the ground (engine area near trans), another going to the sending unit, and now i have to power it.....already have the light hooked up to the wiring from the cig lighter so it comes on when lights are on and will dim......thanks, just as an fyi, i have it mounted using a pod on the dash tray, so running a wire back there is no problem.....just not sure which wire to hook into.....don't want it on all the time (only while truck is on)....thanks guys....

Run a wire from the fuse box to power it. Use the fuse for the winshield wipers and it will turn on and off with the ignition.

I am not sure which cig lighter wire you tapped into that will allow you to dim and brighten the light...I dont think my cig lighter is lighted (maybe it is). The power wire for the cig lighter itself will not allow you to dim the light with the dimmer switch.

the lightblue with red stripe and the black......the light blue w/ rd stripe goes to all the exessories i believe. having a block, where is the fuse panel inside the truck....gave it a quick look and didn't see. also thinking of using the wire from the radio (there are two, one powers all the time and the other with the key.).....will have to find the wiring diagram poste someone sent me for lights and radio.....
