05 F-150 Scab Lariat 4X4 mileage

Finally able to check the mileage out on the interstate. There was some
traffic and a little construction delay but mostly cruise control driving.
This was with about 400lbs of load in the bed an behind the seat.
Towing package with the 3.73 ls.

80 mph = 15.7
70 mph = 16.5

I was happy with this. I get 13.5 in the city if I baby it, 10.5 if I have
my foot in it all the time and 11-12 if I just drive and don't pay attention
to mileage.

Anyway, I notice alot of different quotes for mileage. Not bragging. Just
wanted to post my honest results. BTW, this is better than my wifes 04 Explorer XLT sport 4X4 with the V-6.

I can get 16.5 or 16.4 @ 80-83 MPH on the highway with the same configuration, but a 2004 model year. That was my average on a trip to and from Gatlinburg, TN (about 300 miles for me). I average 15.5 overall back and forth to work - mix of 'city' and highway driving (not driving conservatively).

2004 Lariat, supercab, 3.73 LS, 4x4 w/hard bed cover.
