A/C Problem

I started my truck tonight and was getting ready to pull out of the driveway when I was setting up the A/C. The A/C control was flashing and wouldn't turn on. So I stopped the truck, shut it off and restarted it. The same thing happened. I pulled off the center radio bezel and had to pull both plugs out of the A/C controls and plug them back in, and it started working just like it should. I have no clue what happened because both plugs were plugged.

This happen to anyone else?

It could have been a glitch within the CAN. These hi-tech trucks are moody sometimes

I think you’re the first to report this problem

There's a service message for this, you're supposed to pull the fuse or unplug the module to do a temporary reset, and if it acts up again, replace the EATC control head. Might be time for a trip to your friendly neighborhood stealership.

Only in Alaska! I only run the heat for about two months here in Alabama; the other ten months , the air is on.

Had the same problem with both my 04 and 05 Lariat's Thumper. What mine did was I'd get in and hit the auto button and set at 60 deg. It would run full blast about 1 minute then shut completely off. When you hit auto again it would come on at a 74 deg setting! Had the ETAC replaced and has never done it again.

At lunch I went out to test it for the heck of it. It sure didn't seem like it gets very cold... I wonder if it's low on refrigerant?
