How do I remove fx4 decals?

Wassup Ya'll,

I bought an 05 FX4 Scab a couple of months ago (pics posted soon) and I want to order some different FX4 Decals to replace the stock ones, when the time comes to do so, how do I remove them without damaging my precious black paint???

Thanks

DJ ANIMALE

Use a hair dryer (just don't take it in a bath tub with you ), peel them off slowly once ther're heated up & clean up the area with GOO-GONE or equivalent.

KC-10 FE out...

Ditto, didn't need any heat gun and it didn't leave any residue in my case, just take it slow and easy.

Um, wouldn't Goo Gone hurt the paint?

use a bug and tar remover instead, it's safe for the paint. One of my decals gave me trouble and left some residue behind, but it all came off with some "elbow grease".

I removed the stealership decal off the tailgate this week, what a pain. I used a bunch of 'goobgone' and elbow grease. Didn't effect the paint at all.

WD40 gets it going and duct tape holds it together! Save your money on all these bug/tar removers, etc. Been using WD40 for years to get any type of adhesive residue off just about anything. I always follow with a little soap and water cleanup and polish. Works great on road tar and here in South Louisiana during the Love Bug season.

I bought my truck in Feb so maybe the residue people are seeing has more to do with how soon you pull it off? I took mine off soon after I bought it. In any case it was very simple and easy, and looks oooh sooooo much better.

Took mine off with a heat gun. It worked great and didn't hurt the paint. Just a little patience.
