e-85 gas in 5.4

does anyone know what needs to be done to run e-85 gas?

check your owners manual on the maximum you can run on factory settings.

I remember it was as high as 10% ethanol in my 98 but I haven't read that section of the manual for my 04.


It could be as high as 15% ethanol in the new trucks (from the factory with no alterations to the engine)

E85 is not a fuel option for the F150's as of today that I know of ... though Ford has been playing with the 5.4Lstang here's a link to something that might get you on the right track for what you're looking for?

When I picked up my 05 with the 5.4, my dealer told me not to ever put e-85 in. He had a customer put it in and it starting knocking really bad and the engine temp sky-rocketed and just about ruined the engine.
