Anyone successful with Ford's DSB?
My 04 F-150 has been in the shop for 10 items since Feb of this year. 
It's been in for the rear axle shudder, a driveshaft replacement, A/C o-rings leaking, new brake pads and turned rotors, numerous squeeks and rattles, the throttle lag, the butyal pad removal, and the latest issue with my turn signals just working when they feel like it. Its at the dealership as we speak...
I know there are some people who've met with the DSB so in your opinion, do I have a leg to stand on for a possible buy-back? All I want is a truck that I don't need to take to the dealership everyother week. It's terribly embarrising when you work for Ford and try to be a Ford fanboy when I've got a rental Taurus chillin in the driveway all the time.
I also heard the DSB is no longer, however, I talked with the dealership's Customer Service Manager today and he said he'd look into the application process... so we'll see.

I have had many problems with my '04 as well. I am actually in the process of sueing Ford now. According to my lawyer its very rare that Ford buys the vehicle back, what they usually do is offer you a percentage of the sticker price back. Bunch of bullsh*t....

They'll do it eventually. We got ford to take back my mom's escape and give us a new one. It would turn off while she was driving (she lost control once and romped a curb pretty hard). They had every ford tech in So-Cal trying to figure it out, so we got the lawyers to do it for us. Just go straight to Detroit.
I'm sueing because the regional Ford rep. said my truck didn't warrant replacing. I've had the rear-end rebuilt, have the front-end shudder, transmission went out and had to be replaced, have a grinding in the steering column that after 4 visits couldn't be fixed and a Ford engineer said they were not going to pursue it any further because the truck was still driveable, AC control unit went out, rear sliding window motor went out, rear window was replaced, and a few other minor things. But its not a lemon according to Ford. This is my fifth Ford truck, always been loyal to Ford, not so sure that loyalty is warranted any longer...
Good luck man, I feel your pain. My 04 viba-lemon was the biggest piece of junk I ever owned. I was in 13 times for over 40 days. My dealer actually got the FSE to replace my truck. Was actually pretty painless. There were a few others on here that went DSB route and got their trucks replaced as well. I fortunately didn't have to go DSB.
Make them do what's right. $40K is a lot to pay for a junker. I know from experience.

Ford works very very well with the buyback. I had my truck brought back from Ford for so many problems with it. They worked with me extreamly good, and gave me all my payments back that I made for the truck. Fords a very good company to deal with when you have problems, so far, they have taken care of me more then I expected!!
Glad to hear you guys have had good experiences, mine has been horrible! Maybe its the dealership and the regional rep. that I dealt with. They said I was crazy if I thought they would buy the truck back or have them replace it, in their eyes it was operating within spec. Not sure they would think the same thing if it was their $40k. Long story short, they treated me like crap the entire time, hence my lawsuit with Ford.
My cousins had Ford buy back their 2003 F350 dually (cuz of several issues with the first bacth of 6.0L Powerstrokes) and had 0 problems. Ford built an identical 04 and then sent it to Line-X. Then they gave them an 04 loaner for a week while they had both trucks and had them sent to various shops to have the after market parts swapped out (5th wheel hitch, gooseneck ball, ventisors). Anything part that didn't fit the new one, Ford bought them one. Everything else they paid to have swapped out.
The only issue they ran into was ford forgot to take the wrapping off the fule level snesor on the new 04 and they ran out of gas on the way home. Apparently everyone thought the tank was full the whole time. Other than that, the 04's been a lot better.

I had my 2004 FX4 replaced by Ford via the DSB process due to drive line vibration issues. I received a 2005 Lariat with no vibration. In my opinion the DSB process was professional and very well organized.

Thats the only issue you had and they replaced it!? Wow, good for you! I didn't know a thing about the DSB until after I hired a lawyer. I had asked the dealership if there was anything I could do, a process to go through and they said other than the regional rep. recomending to Ford to replace it as a lemon, there was nothing I or they could do.

There was alot more to it than just a vibration. I had several repair attempts made by the dealership and a Ford Engineer.
Let me see....Rear end completely replaced, tires balanced several times, drive shaft reindexed several times, new drive shafts installed, dampner installed, shims in rear adjusted and added several times, ect. Anyway I'm happy with my 2005 Lariat. Great truck!
