Protective hood film

Has anyone tried this stuff? Everytime I get something tinted I
see this add at the tinting place for this clear protectant film.
but it seems to me this stuff would also get chipped or gouged and
then you would see the damaged area.

Anyway, I am taking a trip about 8 hrs oneway next weekend (all interstate)
and I would like to save the hood and wondered if anyone had any
personal experience with this stuff.

Thanks,

Chris.

Thumbs up film

i have quite a few friends with the protective film...the stuff is amazing- i think its a 3m product - .8 mil urethane film. its tough- pelted with rocks, smothered with bugs just giver a good wash at the end of the trip, bugs come off, paint stays safe from any gouges, chips from rocks and road debris its got uv inhibitors, so it doesn't shouldnt yellow. doesnt peel off accidentally

I had it installed on my wife's new Escape when we picked it up earlier this year. It has already saved a couple of nicks on the front edge of the hood!

There is no doubt that I'll have it applied to my new F-150 when it arrives!

Here is a place that sells the 3M kits if you put it on yourself. It has pieces for pretty much everything. I ordered the lower bumper piece because I have a few chips on my painted metal bumper and I don't want any more.
