Noise coming from the back end

Hey guys...i've been noticing lately that when im driving i hear a winding noise from the back end. Expecially when i coast at all it gets loud. What do you think the problem is? thanks

howl in the rear end, ford has had this problem since 97

Mine has the same problem, the dealership ordered a new ring and pinion. They should be installed next week sometime, I hope it works.
