Do you have an aftermarket alarm? or is the Ford factory one?
I know with my Viper/Clifford if you start pushing buttons and the Viper alarm is activated, the alarm will go off. However it'll still let you in the truck in case you locked your keys in there. Its kind of a nice feature if you ask me!

Aftermarket alarms are supposed to sound anytime a door is opened. How does the alarm know if a door is opened or not?..it monitors the dome light. It just so happens that pressing the keypad buttons also illuminates the dome light, so the alarm thinks that a door has been opened.
You could fix it by disconnecting the dome light trigger wire on the alarm, but then the alarm will not go off if the door is opened. At this point, you would be defeating the purpose of having the alarm in the first place. There are probably other ways to fix it by adding diodes and other crap, but if you knew how to do that you'd probably have done that by now. My suggestion would be to not be lazy and grab your alarm remote and use that to unlock your truck, or be content with the horn/siren blazing.

I'm going to get the CodeAlarm A670, They make the alarms for ford, but the A670 is a 2-way, and has inputs to use the factory keypad. And there are other alarms out there that have the ability to be disarmed via input wires. Making them less secure then most. At the same time, if the theif is in you car and getting to those wires, doesn't matter what alarm you have.
