Actually not for waving just for cutting someone off accidently.
I do get dirty looks from Dodge drivers tho, id say the ratio of Dodge 1500 trucks and F-150's here is about 70% Dodge 30% F-150.
Here in the High Desert (of California) Fords are the most common truck. If you waved you would be flapping your arms like a humming bird...
We used to wave when I drove Brit sports cars, Vettes and to a lesser degree Jeeps, but waving at another F-150 is kinda silly with this many people and trucks.

Sometimes when I wave to fellow owners, they look at me like I'm a foreigner. Must be jealous because most don't have the Lariat. Jealousy, I guess.

When I drive back and forth across this country, I am struck by all the two lane "freeway" and all the empty spaces. We have more people in 100 miles of my house than in Texas, Kansas, Arizona, Utah, etc. combined. Those of us in this over crowded state have a different set of conditions from anywhere else. Sorta like the folks who live in The Big Apple, but there are a heck of of a lot more of us Californio's.
There are big hunks of the country where everyone speaks English, something that is almost impossible to believe when you live here in 'northern Mexico'. And where you can drive for two or three minutes and not see another F-150. Amazing really, like going back in time.

Last time I was in Billings Montana, (last year)they were complaining about growth... This is in a 'city' that's smaller than my neighborhood, and I live in a 'rural suburban' area.

In New Orleans they were complaining about traffic.... five hundred cars were backed up on the newer bridge of the Twin Span.... We say a day with 50,000 cars jammed at the bottom of the Cajon pass is light traffic....

If I lived in the open, empty places (like Ohio, or Illinois) I would wave at other trucks, sometimes...

Chris

Alot of people wave here, but mostly it's people in pick ups waving to pick ups. I always thought it was strange why the pick up people wave more often.

Must be an LA thing. I'm sure HIDPLANET or PORKCHOP would wave!
I'll wave to you

Interesting thread; I have always wondered about certain drivers and taking pride in ownership. It's exciting when you see a car like yours, and you want their attention.

A few weeks ago I was at a light and a yellow ZX5 pulls up next to me, I glance over and the guy kept looking straight ahead. Would have been a really cool picture or a really cool HI!!!

Living in the Houston area it seems as though every 4th vehicle is a F150... in a city of 4.5 million that is a lot of freakin wavin! If I make eye contact with the driver, and I often try to, I will wave and nod... no matter what they are driving. But 04-05 F150's do draw more attention from me, especially if the owner has some apealing mods. I try to give an approving gesture to let them know I noticed.

I also wonder how many that I pass are members here on this board. There are some nice F150's in the part of town that I live. If they aren't members, they should be.

I'm with the majority, waving at other F150 owners. Living in a small town I usually find myself doing a lot a waving anyway.

Most everybody waves around here but It's best when I ride on my motorcycle. Fellow bikers almost all wave except Harley Riders (the ones on Full Dressers do wave).

I ride motorcycles (my other hobby ) and we always wave to each other - kind of "belonging to the same brotherhood" or something - I find myself waving to cyclists even when in my F-150 or Mustang GT - sometimes they wave back. I do get nods when in the '05 Mustang from other Stang owners and classic/muscle car owners....haven't seen anyone waving at me in the truck though, will have to start that and see what response I get....Thomas you start waving in Pasadena, Anehiem you start waving out there and I'll start here in 1000 Oaks and we'll transform SoCal overnight!!

I work in 1000 Oaks, so you've got a deal.

Screw2004 - I'll be looking for you.

ChrisAdams - expect a wave, even if it's not returned.

I wave if you wave.
And if I lived/worked in a nice area like 1000 Oaks, it would be easier... And a good deal less dangerous. Out there, the usual wave is between Porches...Or more expensive rides...
