1st off the dooredgeguards.com guards are not rubber - they are stainless painted the EXACT factory color - so if you have a non-black truck - they blend in and don't stand out like black/chrome will on a non-black truck. Also, they are perfectly matched to the door edge angles - and I couldn't even begin to get my generic rubber edge guards to bend and fit in the channel near the bottom of the door....you get what you pay for and after seeing my brothers in Oxford white - I'm going to order them in black and repalce my rubber generic guards. And by the way - I'm in no way affiliated with door edge guards - just was impressed with how nice their product is.

I'm glad Ford doesn't put body moldings on. They look terrible. Also, they may not ding like metal but the paint still chips if they get hit by some A-holes door in a parking lot.

They are in my Gallery, not good pics, taken at night will get better ones tomorrow.

In response to the above post if you want to equip your truck from walmart, be my guest. Wally world is good for a few things but I don't want my truck to look like trailer trash.

My door edge guards are NOT rubber OR plastic. They are stainless steel and they have a warranty against chipping, fading, scratches etc. Here in Colorado at altitude the heat and UV rays would tear apart the whimpy plastic, rubber ones in a summer!

I just ordered a set of the Ford door edge guards from Ford Parts Network. They are plastic clad stainless steel. I got the black ones and they look great. They blend in with the door gap and you can't tell they are there from 20' away. Mine were genuine Ford with the correct 04 F150 part number. Maybe I got lucky and got some that were still in stock.

I just installed mine from dooredge guards "dot" com and they are nice. They are painted metal and have a protective inner coating so you don't damage the paint underneath. Looks great.....well they would if they didn't blend in so well being an exact factory paint match! I realize that they are expensive compared with the Wallmart generic rubber guards (that still work well) - but it is a quality product if you can swing the bling!!

You guys are trying to hard....

Stop in at a big truck stop and look around at the toys for the big boys. Most have the trim in different styles and type in 1000' rolls. I picked up some plain black for the work truck for .75 / ft.

They had different witdths and type in crome, brass, clear, black,...

Take your pick!
