Just joined up, looks like a great site! Picked up a Black 05 Supercrew FX4 and purchased a V8 emblem like you see on the back of V8 Explorers. Need opinions on where to place it. Right side of tailgate level with F150 emblem? or right side of tailgate towards lower bottom. Thanks everyone.

I hope you go for the tailgate opposite your f150 emblem... I've been thinking about doing that for a few weeks now... it really needs something back there to equal it all out...

Here's my weekend project for my tailgate on my 2005 F150 FX4. A couple of the guys from this forum already have one on their tailgates which gave me the idea. Won't have a picture of it on the truck till tomorrow night at the earliest.

I have the FX4 emblem on my tailgate, if you center the emblem on the right to balance out the F150 on the left, use 6 3/8 inches from edge of tailgate to center of emblem and it looks factory when done
I've thought about buying another fender emblem, and cutting off the bottom part that says "XLT 5.4 Triton" and sticking that on the right side of the tailgate. It is the same length as the F150 emblem and I think it would look quite cool. Any thoughts on this?

As bad as I'd like to see a V8 pasted back there just so I can see if I'd like to do it as well.... I have to agree with the others, the FX4 looks stock and completely compliments the tailgate...
That's it... I'm just going to buy the darn V8 myself... for $15, I can afford for it not to look right .... I'm sure it'll make a nice toolbox emblem if I don't like it. LOL!
