Question K & N Intakes Now Out

Has anyone had any experiance with these K & N Intakes. I know that they came out early but had to be pulled. I believe these new ones are C.A.R.B. certified and specifcaly desighned for our 5.4 3V engines. Just wondering if they may be comparable to the AF1 since some are having issues with the check ewngine light on the AF1. Any opinions?

OOPS Sorry wasn't online yesterday. But i did notice that this K & N is different than the previos one. It now has the C.A.R.B. certification and is not just for off road vehicles as the previous model was.

No problem, it was just fresh on my mind, and I was the only one to reply to it yesterday.

This K&N vs AF1 debate cracks me up.

or

Other than a 45 degree difference in the curve of the tube, they are the same $@*( thing! Hell, I'll slap a product together with another different curve angle and claim 20HP... I could retire by x-mas. I'll call it the 'BIG D CAI'. Wicked packaging and a snazzy marketing champaign and I'm rich!

Except, hasn't K & N been around for 25 + years? Seems like I remeber it on vehicles back in High School and that was a long time ago. The ony reason I brought it up was people were havin problems with the AF1 and i seen it in the new 4Wheel Part Magazine just for our trucks.

I had a K&N FIPK on my 02. Looks like I might have one on my 05. Either that, or the Airaid.

Cool Might be to early still (Air Intake Systems)

It looks as if there is a lot of conflicting information being posted on the numerous air intake systems. I've came close on several occasions to making a purchase, then I read more and hold off. It seems to be a huge point of debate for those that have made there purchases in a effort to indicate which one is the best in their minds. I haven't seen this much debate in a long time, keep it up. It's just added information for those of us still riding the fence. There is nothing better than reading pros and cons on all of the manufacturers items from the users themselves. I think by years end the dust (bad choice of words) should settle and a choice can be made with confidence.

Exactly. I don't know about 25 years, but that is a big reason why I went with the K&N. Hey, to each their own. 15K and no CEL problems, good performance gains. I'm happy.

I got the Air charger as soon as they came out. I guess some people would say I was lucky that I didn't have CEL issues but I didn't and inspection stations don't check for the CARB sticker around here.
