Autospring help

Hey guys, I installed a 2.5" autospring on my 05 F150 SuperCrew Lariat.

Everything went fine and it looks and drives great. However I went over a speed bump a little faster than normal and I heard a clunk noise from the front. Normal driving is fine. I've hit a few more on purpose and get that clunk noise. Any ideas?

Everything looks fine when I inspected it.

I bet it was your suspension topping out. Or it could be the coils spring touching the control arm.

I think your right. A couple of friends said it sounds like the shock is bottoming out... and not to worry.

definately the upper control arm banging against the coils spring, I had the same thing, have Autospring ship you a 1.5" spacer, it'll give you 2.25" lift and eliminate the clanking. They're very responsive to any problems you may have. I had to swap out the 2" for the 1.5", the 2" spacer gave me almost 3.25" lift and clanked over every single speedbump, you'll be real happy with the 1.5" spacer.

You might want to check and make sure all the bolts and nuts that were loosened are still tight. I installed the Daystar and didnt retorque right away and a couple nuts had worked a little loose and caused a rattle when hitting bumps.

bill maier is right, it is the upper control hitting the coil spring. If you look under the fender well you will see wear on the coil spring from being hit by the control arm. I noticed this problem after I installed my daystar (before the Rancho). If you want to get rid of the 'clunking' noise get the 1.5" autospring.

Does this happen all the time with the bigger spacer? Or only on some trucks? I want to run the bigger spacer but dont want this to happen.

It seems to vary from truck to truck.
