Man, I really like it

my new 4x4 XLT Supercab. Sits up nice & high, and tight.

Question, is there any way to program or otherwise set the lighter socket and the front power plug to kill the power when the truck isn't running?

With them both hot all the time, I need to remember to turn off the radar detector and 2-meter radio every time I get out.

Thanks.

I haven't heard any chatter about anything like this but, I feel confident that you could do it somehow.

As many here will tell you, I'm the last guy you want doing electrical mods on your truck (I'm just not electrically minded enough) but, I bet the addition of a switch, a relay or six, and a few other thingamajigs could make it work... it seems to on everyone else's electrical mods. LOL!

As for programing... I don't think that would work.

Other thing I like

(happened to take a drive at night) is the green instrument lighting, and the fact that all the window and lock buttons light up too.

Set the Icom 2100H to green backlighting, it looks like it belongs there. Oh, and the lighted cruise control switches on the wheels are excellent.

Is there supposed to be some indicator that the cruise is enabled? I know when you engage it there is, but toggling the "On" button doesn't seem to light up anything... so how do you know if it's on (other than the fact that when you hit "Set" the truck slows down when you take your foot off the gas)??

yeah, I know

that lights up when the cruise is both on and engaged.

But how do you know if it's on, ready to be engaged?

It'll only light up when engaged.

The only way to know that it's on is to attempt to engage it. If it lights the indicator, then, well, it was on. If it fails to light the indicator then, well, it was off. Turn it on and re-try.
