Ain't Livin' In Sin No More!

Having "lurked" around this site for the better part of year now, I have always felt a little like a "forum *****" since I didn't actually own an F150 yet -- just a few Fords! Well, that all changed yesterday when I finally placed an order for my new "baby".

I've been going back and forth between either getting a new F150 or a new Mustang GT, but finally decided that it's still such a "sellers market" for the GT that the fiscally conservative side of my personality won out. I'd just as soon wait until some of the furor (and ridiculous pricing) settled down around the Mustang before making the leap on that vehicle!

The F150 will be my "baby" and will only be driven for fun on the weekends -- I'm keeping my trusty old '97 Ranger as the daily driver. He's also already been named -- "Blue". (The name "Belle" has been reserved for my Mustang when I eventually get it!) The intent will be to keep "Blue" and "Belle" for the rest of my life as my "babies"!

Here's how I have "Blue" set up from the factory:

* Standard Cab, 6-1/2' Styleside Box, 4x2, XLT
* Medium Wedgewood Blue
* 5.4 Engine
* 3.73 Limited Slip Differential
* Flint Interior
* Rear Window Defroster
* Fog Lamps
* Rear Cargo Storage Unit

Here are the mods I plan to have waiting in the garage by the time he gets here:

* Rims -- 22" American Racing Magnets (unless I find something I like better?)
* Tires -- 305/40/22 BF Goodrich g-Force KDW NT's
* Magnaflow 16617 SIDO Lightning Exit
* Billet (or chrome?) Fuel Door -- the plastic factory thing is a joke!
* Groundforce Drop Shackles
* 3M Paint Protection Film (installed locally)
* 35% Window Tint (maybe even a little darker since it's not a daily driver?)

Been saving my pennies for a long time to finally be able to do this -- can't wait till he gets here and I can start turning some wrenches!

You haven't really been lurking with 200 posts! LOL!

Congrats and welcome to the family. I'll pull your excommunication papers that were previously filed and were almost completed. You're one of us now.

Thats a crappy welcome to the club

I don't bitch about my mileage and won't I bought the truck because I wanted it.
(I think Topgun is pissed because he's 3208 levels away from liking his ride)
J/K There are alot of folks here that do tons of mods then get pissed at the performance of their vehicles. With that said Welcome to the Best of the Best. It doesn't get better then a Ford F150

Congrats on your new truck.

I also could give a rats *** about mileage. Its just part of owning a real truck and not some wimpy *** car. I'd like to see a geo metro pull a 3 horse trailer and get 17 miles to the gallon!!!!

You Mean These Trucks Don't Get Good Gas Mileage?!

No, I'm not worried about getting great gas mileage on this one -- that's what the Ranger is for! Since it won't be my daily driver, gas mileage wasn't really even a factor in the consideration.

Now if it WAS going to be my daily driver, and since I don't really NEED a work vehicle with the power or hauling capabilities of this truck, then I might be doing something different. But this truck will just be for pure fun, thus the 5.4 that I want to hear purring nicely through the Magnaflow system!!!

Congrats on your new (ordered) truck
Gas mileage? When I bought my truck i assumed id get alittle more than a Honda Civic with a hybrid engine, turns out im getting alittle less, but I contribute tht to the F-150 being alittle heavier
