FX4 new stereo
man... the truck aint even 2 days old and today it got a new stereo
Alpine CDA-9853
MB Quart Premium PCE 118 (6.5" components & 1" Tweeter)
MB Quart Discus DKE 168 (6x8 2 way coax)
Alpine MRV F345 4channel mounted behind dash (75x4 rms)
let the rockin begin!!
lets just say the quiet steel works both ways... you can definitely hear the music outside the truck, but man you open the doors and there's a full concert hall greating you. it absorbs so much in the door panels
the deck is amazing, so many options to make it sound the best in the space available- the glide bar takes a little adapting to, but once get the
mbquart components in the front- amazing- i may bypass putting a 10" in now..really.
mbquart 6x8's sound great for the supercab doors
coupled with the new v12 amp the system is insane everything sounds super crisp, even at high volumes. what amazed me the most is that they mounted the 10x14x2 amp BEHIND the deck...they took off the center piece as diagrammed in previous posts, and stuck the bugger back there, then put in the deck and ll that good stuff... but wait you say...sure it makes it difficult to adjust gains, eq's but with both pieces being Alpine, using the amp-link allows complete amp configuration from the deck-problem solved.

the deck (sorry bout the pics- will have better tomorrow when its light out)

HCFR:- i'll work with it tomorrow and see if i can get the panel off to see the mount. i think all they did was make a plate so the 6.5 would mount- then they dynamatted the new mount to keep unwanted noise down. i think they may have had to trim some of the original mounting area to get mine to fit-

While we're here and you see the pics, i gotta do something about the DIN space below- ideas? material to line it?

Nice install!! How about lining the inside with some carbon fiber "tape"? I know some of it looks cheesy, but look around for the better stuff and that might look good..... or possibly a carbon fiber panel with a couple of small velcro discs on the back of it so that you could cover the hole, but still remove the panel to access the inside if need be.
