Sorry, No Tires Available For 2005 F-150s

Anyone tried out the major tire companies' on-line tire finders? Apparently there is nothing available for the 2005 XLT SC 4x4! BF Goodrich, Michelin, and Goodyear have nothing for my truck!

Just Kidding....

I was just pointing out how slow the major tire guys are in updating their offerings online. I'll run the rubber off the crappy Generals that came with the truck. There should be plenty to choose from by then!

According to Tire Rack, Michelin doesn't make a 2WD Lariat sized tire.

This is disconcerting, but by the time I need 'em, they should be out.

I agree, I find it amazing that Ford sells roughly 1 million F-150s a year and the tire makers STILL don't have decent tires out for our trucks. I want to put a set of Bridgestone Duelers on my truck, but they still aren't making an 18" yet.

Kamikaze, I couldn't agree with you more. I really hope they get the Bridgstone Dueler Revo's out soon for the 18" rim. It is by far the best tire I have ever had on a truck. They are awesome in mud and muck and look great. A trully M/T worthy A/T tire.

No because a lot of tire manufactures don't make tires for the 18" rim. The tires truck owners would want on their trucks anyways. I understand that there are street tires out most truck owners don't want that. There is only like 3 options for off-road tires for the 18" rim and 33s. Its horrible.

Finding rims for the new F-150 is just as bad. I have been looking the last few weeks for rims for my soon-to-arrive truck and invariably whenever I find a rim I really like, it is not yet being manufactured in Ford's 6-135 lug pattern!

Like someone said earlier, when you consider how many of these vehicles are now out on the road, it's kind of amazing that the aftermarket manufacturer's aren't more on the ball with this stuff!

I think that raalden is not refering to the 275/65-R18's that come wtih the Lariats and the FX4's but the 255/70-R17's that come with the XLT...

I am personally in the same boat. I *HATE* General Tires and wanted to get them immediately off the truck. I don't want bigger or wider tires, I like the tire size that the XLT's have... I just want tires from a decent tire maker.

Until now, only General Tires makes that size.

Though, I see that you 18" guys are suffering from the same problem...
I am glad that us poor XLT owners are not alone.

Quintin, Tire rack is not terribly accurate, their data base is not very up to date and has more than a few bugs. Find the size tire you want, with the rating you want, and they probably have it, just not so you can check it in the database.
Example, they give the size of the 265-60-18 Longtrail as 29 inches in one data run, and as 30.4 in another...
It's 30.6 according to measure, and the maker.
They have lots of other little quirks in their data base.
Chris

Yup. Nobody but General makes a 255/70 R17 yet.
