which CAI kit??

I'm tossed between the volant setup, the airraid and the airraid JR.

Volant is kind of big but seems to be nice and easy. Like the idea of the filter being completly covered. The airraid kits seem to be nice, but the full airraid kit is kind of scary with just that seperator piece. Airraid JR I like because it replaces that stupid stock tube but uses factory air box.

Of the three which one would give the best mpg savings?? Performance I don't care about, I want the best one mpg wise. I also have the American Thunder cat back on the truck, if that makes a differece with the CAI.

Anyway one of you internet gurus can post a picture of all three in one post? for comparason, my web skills suck.

If your looking for MPG your looking in the wrong place, these are PERFORMANCE intakes not MPG intakes, and since there is no such thing your better off with a aftermarket drop-in for the price.

And think about the 300 or so dollars you spend on an intake how much of that can go do to gas considering if you gain 1MPG you will only be saving a couple cents.

If gas is $2.50 and you get 15mpg right now, you will only be saving approx. 0.35+/- cents if you gain 1 MPG which means you will have to go through 100 tanks of gas before it will pay for it self if it costs $300.

(i think i did my math right, correct me if i am wrong)

I've had the truck for about 3 weeks now. Filled up the 35 gallon tank 4 times already. Haven't got an exact measurment yet, but to me my mpg's suck big time. Truck has just under 1400 miles on it, for you mpg figure-outers.

seem to average about 400 to the tank. So I'm getting 11.2 mpg, if I figured it right. I'd like to be at least at 15. Maybe I will just do the airraid JR, and a K&N drop in. Would a programmer have any benifit, on regular gas. with these mods? or not worth it.

that is pretty sweet looking. Since you can't see it when the hood is shut, how do you think it seals? By looking at the rubber on the top, it looks like it doesn't touch the hood. I'd think there would be some marks or something on it. ANy rattles or complaints about it?

I was looking to compare, not one by one pull up a pic. 14" screen on this pc, sucks for having multiple windows open at the same time.

On the edit, going on the post you quoted, I was asking him directly, what he thought about it. If I wanted to read through 10 thousands posts, I would have done a search

Looking up at the air box, from underneath the truck, the rubber seal does touch the insulation on the underside of the hood. I’ve had it installed since last Friday and everything is good, no rattles and very easy to install. It runs quiet at cruising speed, no drone or whistle, but sounds off nicely when you hit the gas. The hp & torque gains to the rear wheels are sweet; 20hp at 2,000rpm’s and 25hp at 3,000rpm’s and you can definitely feel it big time. The Power Stack filter takes in air from the end too where as all the others have closed ends.

i have the volant with no complaints. it has the closed box, which looks better IMO under the hood, more like it belongs. and it has addon capability of the ram air tube, but i dont think id ever drop the cash on that

The Volant ram-air tube looks like it would scoop water in a heavy rainstorm
