Navigator headlamps switched with F150

Guys I pulled up next to a 05 navigator today with HIDs. The headlamps, though different in terms of the number of reflectors...I think they have daytime running lamps or something, but the headlamps look identical in shape and size. Anyone considered the idea of using those headlamps and the ballasts/bulbs for an HID retro fit? Anyone know if the tabs will match up on the F150 to make it a clean fit?

I'm pretty shure they wont fit. I have a friend that has a Navi and got a really good look at both lights side by side. The upper outside curve is different.

the curve at the fender on the F150 goes straight down, on the navigator it slants back. im not saying its IMPOSSIBLE to make it work, but it wouldnt be worth the trouble. if you want projectors, get the ones off ebay

Well I'm trying to find a HID reflector solution and not use projectors. I don't like the look of the projector versions of our headlamps and retro fitting projectors (like the ones on a BMW) into our reflectors doesn't look all that great. I'd love it if I could just use the stock reflectors and just replace the bulbs, ballasts, and heat shield for the bulb. But the heat shield won't make too big of a difference I don't think. The reflector is the biggest thing. Anyone put HID bulbs in their stock reflectors to see how the performance is? I know we all agree it probably isn't great, but lets see it first hand.

i'll be putting E46 bi-xenon projectors in my housings this summer. i'm going to put it where the turn signal bulb is and mound some amber leds above the hole to replace it. i'm going to run a relay that will switch between the stock halogen and the hid....that way when i have a load or pull a trailer, i can switch it back to stock and not worry about the safety of glare to oncoming traffic. i figure with the housing being chrome, they won't be too noticeable.
