Mud Guards/flaps

Hey all...i need to get a set of mud guards to put on my fx4 because its always kicking up mud. What kind would you recommend? the molded guards or just the mud flaps or what? thanks

I think the molded ones look better but both work pretty good. I'll have to look and see what kind mine are.

my dad put some molded husky ones on his truck, they look good. i think the flaps tend to look a little wind whipped after a while.

I put the Ford branded molded splash guards on my FX4. I have pics of them in my gallery

I put on the factory ones. No drilling into the metal, but you have to drill holes through wheel lip moldings. EZ install.

I think its a matter of personal taste. I myself prefer the rubber mud flaps. I think it has a more truck like look. but I will admit they do get a little wind whipped looking after a while but I think it ads character. you can see some pics of mine in my gallery.

I personally put the rubber mud flaps on my truck. I didn't like the idea of the molded ones hitting or snagging on a boulder or something when I was wheeling. Plus, IMHO the plastic POS belong on a car not a truck.

BUt it's all up to you and what YOU like.
