Dead Battery?

Anyone have trouble with battery dieing out. Sometimes my battery dies out. When it happens it sounds like something is running under the bed of the drivers side of the truck. Could it maybe be the fuel pump in the gas tank that keeps running? And when I charge the battery and bring it to dealer it stops so they can't find out whats happening. Has anyone else have this happen to them?

hmm that is strange, going from your description of the sounds it does seem like perhaps the fuel pump is running. ive never heard of that problem. if i was you, id take it to a different dealer, someone has to find out whats doing it, even if they take the time to hook up an ammeter and start pulling fuses

It could very well be your fuel pump relay. I have had this happen on other cars of mine.

Get a new battery. The OEM one is junk, same thing happened to me so I put in a yellow top Optima. No more problems.

Exactly what he said....my stocker would go dead after about 15-20min of playing the radio without the truck running. I just got a Yellow Top and so far so good!

My OEM died after 22 months. Got a new one under warrantee. I plan on waiting about 18 months and then getting a *real* battery with the idea of dropping it in when this replacement dies. Here in Houston, summers can get quite hot and that is death on batteries. I have been forced to replace batteries about every 2 years regardless of the vehicle.

not saying if the battery is good or bad but, a suggestion for the noise. when it is making the noise try pulling fuses to see if the noise stops. at least that might get you on the track of the cause. i have to agree with the stuck relay. i had that on another f150 (older) and it was the relay that kept the eec4 and pump alive. if i drove the truck everyday i did not have a problem but let it sit a couple and i did. went to the dealer to get a new relay and the parts guy said it was a high fail item. got 2 never had a problem again.
