new method for chrome emblems

Many people have their own methods of removing the black paint from the emblem. Im a lazy lazy man, so i found the best way for me!! mask a good 6 inches around the emblem, and keep a hose handy. get you some Aircraft Remover from AutoZone. this stuff will TAKE ANYTHING OFF METAL. so be careful, and do not drip it, and yes it burns through rubber gloves. dont ask how i know. apply evenly with a small brush or Q-tip. drink one beer. two if you drink fast. wipe black paint off. rinse. voila

Those look sweet! Can you post other pics with them and the entire truck in the picture?

Thanks,

JOHN B

That looks REALLY good.....damn I am tempted!!!

BTW do you know if the Lincoln LT emblems will fit into the same holes as the F150 badges? In other words are they interchangable?

john, there are some pics in my gallery, in the Mark LT section. its kind of hard to get a good picture because there is always some reflection

Ram, you bit by the Mark LT bug as well!! haha, im pretty sure the emblems will fit. if they dont fit the holes ill break off the tabs and just use the 3M tape to hold them on

That does look good, nice job. I'm tempted too, but there is just something that would go wrong and I'd end up dumping the whole container down the side of my truck.

i did drip a little on my paint, but hosed it right off and it was fine. what i did was tape about 4 inches on the sides and top, and then tape ALL the way down if youre nervous. use a q-tip or small brush and you cant go wrong.

that sure does look good, I hav not seen this before.

from up close you can can barly see the F-150 logo though, hows it look from 10 feet away?? Does it look like just one big plain peice of chrome that you can't read or even tell it has writing on?

it does kind of, and right now thats what im aiming for, because people would see the big lincoln grill, and then, oh, the F150 emblem. so its a temporary solution until i get the LT emblems. but i figured guys with all the chrome accents would appreciate it

yes its for small jets and large dragonflies

i dont know why its called aircraft remover, i suppose any automotive paint stripper would work, but ive only tried aircraft remover, and it worked fine and did not damage the chrome or the plastic. but it WILL take off any paint

i think id rather leave the paint on if youre going to repaint, give you a better surface for your new paint to adhere to IMO
