A couple new mods....

After all the discussion on batteries I descided to go with a Optima Yellow Top. I got it from Advance AutoParts for $137.99. Thats cheaper than I could find it online after shipping charges.

I also added a Motorola "Professional Install Car Kit" for my Motorola V710. I went with this kit versus the blue tooth kit for a few reasons...1)The bluetooth kit does not have a external anntena, and around here in south GA the external anntena makes a difference (I put the anntena behind a pillar molding inside the truck so you cant see it). 2)I like the hang up cradle, in not only gives me a place to put the phone but it also charges the phone. 3)Probably the main reason....I already had this kit for my old T720 and all I had to by was a new cradle to make it work with the new phone.
One of the best features off these kits (even better than the hands free feature) is that it will mute your radio when the phone rings or when your dialing out. I cant tell you how many calls I have missed because I couldnt here the phone over the radio!

Cool mods!!! I like how the battery stand out!

You and I have the same phone. I hate that phone, I'm on my 3rd phone in about 4 months from so many problems where they keep getting me a brand new phone, but somehow it manages to not turn on still. Oh well. lol Cool mods though!

What did it take to install the phone kit. Do you have a speaker that came with it, or did u put it to the radio. Would it work on just the stock radio with the aux button. Since i know Ford has there own version and it hooks up to the aux. Thanks

The install is not very complicated at all. There is only 3 wires to hook up...one ground, a full time positive and one that turns on and off with the ignition (and one more wire for the MUTE function to work). It came with its own speaker and should work fine with the factory radio (I know there is a way to make it mute, but I couldnt tell you exactly how since I havent installed one with the factory radio). BTW....I did not know the Ford kit will work with the AUX button.

Question

RamSS/T-

That looks like something I want to do.. did the bracket to mount the phone cup next to the radio come with it or was there some special kit to make it work in the F150? I'm assuming you had some very careful dremel-ing to do to get the center face plate back on without pinching the wires?

TIA

Hey do you have any pictures of your install of the Hands Free. Where did you put the speaker, and where did you put the brain and the mic. Thanks.
