lowering kits?
I have a 2004 ford f-150 with 22" and i was wondering if anybody has lowered there truck with pics.? Also i was trying to get a lowering kit off of ebay from a company called highz and lowz, but for some reason they do not have the front springs for the new ford in stock, so i have been waiting for them for two weeks now. Any suggestions??????????

Welcome to the site. Don't be afraid to use the "search" feature of the site. Several people have lowered their trucks here. Member HIDPLANET seems to have a nice drop kit on his truck made by McGaughy's.
There's a guy driving around my part of Houston with a lowered F-150 and 22's, so it definitely can be done. Now what kind of clearance problems he ran into, I couldn't tell you. I also don't know what kind of drop he did, but I can tell you it was something more than just 2" shackles in the rear.
I've been meaning to talk to him sometime when I see him with his truck, since he has the same set-up (305/40/22 tires on a standard cab-short box) that I want to do with my baby. I'll pass along any comments he has if he had tire clearance issues.
To be honest, I saw his truck with 22's before he dropped it and thought it looked pretty damn good -- I actually think he went a little overboard with the drop he did. My thinking is that standard front height with a 1-1/2" - 2" drop in the rear is about perfect for this vehicle and 22's!

I'll be going with the Roush suspension package when I pick up my new F-150. It will be dealer installed before I buy the truck, so hopefully that will give me some leverage with any warranty issues down the road if they arise. The kit is $1100 from the dealership, and they want $800 for the install, but I am in the process of talking them down some. I'm hoping to get it all done for $1500 total.
This kit comes with new rear leaf springs, 4 new shocks, shock extenders, new coils, new front and rear swaybars and a couple other items to help the ride and suspension. This kit is more for handling and appearance where most other kits are mainly just for appearance by lowering the truck.
I also plan to run 22's with the 305's.

i have 22x 9.5 wheels with a +40 mm offset on 305/40/22 tires and a 3"/5" belltech drop.
kit consisted of new front springs, new rear shocks and axle flip.
no rubbing issues whatsoever, but that could vary depending of the offset of your wheels.
find out who the kit was made by and make sure its a reputable company, my kit was ~$600 shipped and installation done by me(big time PITA tho

Their products come standard on most high end porsches.
I'm not sure what the HR is. Also, the dealer is Roush authorized, so this lowering kit shouldn't affect my warranty. I had vibration issues on my sport trac, and the Ford dealerships didn't want to warrant it because I had lowered my trac. I finally found a dealership that was familiar with the vibration (TSB on it) and fixed it for me.
I just don't want these headaches with my new truck, so I'll go with the lowering kit from Ford before I purchase the truck.
I'm in the middle of dealing with a tranny/extended warranty voided because of performance mods issue, so I'm kinda burnt out on getting Ford to warrant their vehicles and was as much ground to stand on as I can.
