in all fairness, GM doesn't make a bad truck. But right now the F150 is a much nicer unit.

I had an 89 Chev that I beat the crap out of for 9 years and many hundred thousand miles until I got my 98 Ford. That Chev gave me no grief at all.

But at the same time, the 98 gave me no grief and was a much nicer unit than the 98 Chevs at the time.

Now I'm into a 2004 F150 that also has given me no grief (other than the slipyoke needed lube)

So I guess what I'm trying to say is that GM's are okay, but within the current offerings out there, the Ford is the nicer, more powerful truck.

The first day they seen it. lol I hear so many ford jokes it makes me sick. The last truck I drove for 4 years was my 1998 GMC 2500HD and I still have that truck. Worst truck I ever owned, was at the dealer more then in my driveway. Might I add I really dont beat my trucks and keep the maintance up as well. I will get a picture of my CB, Its installed in the over the head rail system, cant really even see it. The CB is mounted in one of the storage units.

Awesome! Your folks will come around. After giving them rides home from the GM service department in your shiny new Ford they'll come to appreciate your new baby! Enjoy!

last year my dad went and bought a new 04 chevy and its been to the Gm dealer 4 times already for different things. He also has a trans problem, the trans dont down shift all the way. He is the one that gives me the most sh*( for buying a ford to.

Looking for some more power for pulling a trailer in the winter. I am a snowmobiling freak. I pull a 18FT triton inclosed V-nose drive on and off so need more power. All aluminum of couse. Trailer carries my Ski-doo Rev and two other sleds

thanks Ian

Welcome to the site Ian,
At least you got smart; with almost all of GM's truck line having faulty seatbelts from 2000-2005, I would not want my family in one. Can you imagine the onstar commercial for the seatbelts failing.
Next time they raz you about what a FORD stands for, throw these back at them, First On Race Day, For Only Real Drivers and when you really want to shut them chevy owners up:
Cheap
Heap
Enjoys
Visiting
Repairmen
Over
Little
Engine
Trouble

Once again congrats on the truck.
